Editorial policy
Active City Journal aims to make urban recreation easier to understand and explore. We distinguish general explanation from opinion, use careful language where details may vary, and correct material errors when they are identified.
Accuracy and clarity
We check claims against suitable information available for the subject and write so readers can tell the difference between established description, interpretation and suggestion. Where an activity or facility may have changing access arrangements, readers should confirm current details with the relevant organiser before making plans. We do not invent statistics, sources, experiences or quotations.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for relevance to the publication's subject and readers. A collaboration or commercial relationship does not guarantee editorial coverage or a favourable view. We keep editorial decisions distinct from partnership arrangements.
Corrections
Readers can use the Contact page to identify an error and provide enough detail for us to review it. When we confirm a material mistake, we correct the affected text and make the change clear where appropriate. Questions of interpretation may be addressed with added context rather than treated as factual errors.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, gifted or partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Any illustration created with AI is identified as AI-generated; illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence of a real place or event.
An active city is made by taking part
We look beyond facilities to the people, habits and shared spaces that make activity part of city life. Every entry point counts, whether you arrive ready to play or simply curious.
